Your near-miss data: Your privacy is protected simply by the fact that completing a near-miss report does not ask for any information that could be used to determine your identify. The data is also stored on a secure password-protected server and only ever viewed by those directly involved in data analysis. Also, no results will be reported about any single near-miss report.
Optional phone number: After completing a near-miss report, each participant is asked to optionally provide their phone number (for verification purposes). A random 10% of those who submit a near-miss (and provide a telephone number) will be called. Non-selected phone numbers will be deleted immediately, and selected numbers will be deleted immediately after a successful phone call. The phone numbers of people that can't be reached within one month are also deleted.
Emails provided for newsletter subscription: The newsletter is managed with Microsoft's Listbuilder service, thus your email address will be stored on a diffferent password-protected server that can never be linked to your near-miss reports. Your email address will never be used except as you direct when subscribing to the newsletter (nor ever given to an outside party).
