Drivers helping Drivers...  a Facebook-enabled cause

Sharing incident reports to promote traffic safety!

The Mission:  To minimize the crash risk of cause members, as the result of learning the lessons of everyone's (and your own) submitted near-miss, crash and dangerous driver reports.

Position Statements:

  • Submitting near misses (and any crashes) will increase an awareness of the factors that are unique to your individual crash risk.
  • Reviewing the near misses and crashes of others will educate you about the endless number of situations that can develop into a near miss or crash.
  • Reading dangerous driver reports will alert you to the driving errors and general driving practices of others that put you at risk.
  • Participate by clicking the below submit button to make either:

  • a near-miss report: You either acted to avoid a possible (or certain) collision, or a close call occurred "out-of-the-blue" with no opportunity to react.
  • a crash report: You collided with (or was hit by) another vehicle or other object, or
  • a dangerous driver report: You witnessed a bad decision or action of another driver, which could have (or did) result in a near miss or crash (with someone else).
  • Join our Facebook cause: Drivers helping Drivers

  • Mutually benefit from shared near-miss and crash reports with FB friends
  • Obtain the learning benefits of "dangerous driver" reports that others witness
  • Read announcements for news and updates about the initiative

  •

You will be given the web address of your report to share with others for their benefit.

    Testimonials

"This has had a remarkable effect on my perception of what is going on around me while driving. I have become much more aware of what other drivers are doing, and I think that this has helped me become a more defensive driver."

"For me, participating in the study was a debriefing of my driving safety habits. I have a longer checklist of factors to consider, and now that I have made a habit of considering them, I feel more in control of my safety and less like a passenger at the mercy of factors outside my awareness or influence."

"Participating has made me quite a bit more aware of safety when I drive. I've only had to fill out one report so far, but all the questions you asked really made me think about what I do behind the wheel."

"I can say that I am more conscious of my driving and am more concerned about safety. Keep up the good work."
